Description: A lovely primitive hand hooked wool chair pad depicting a winter scene in the country featuring a tree, farmhouse and gate. This chair pad belonged to my mother, an antique dealer in Vermont. This is likely a New England piece, though she also collected in Quebec, Canada. Unfortunately, I do not have a provenance on this piece, so I will default to a New England origin. The pad is in very good condition. There are a few slight pulls: 1/4 inch on the outside left of the tree, and 1 inch on the outside above the tree and are certainly repairable. The pad is 11 inches in diameter.The brighter photo is the back of the piece. Care: Using a soft brush, gently sweep to remove dust. To clean stains, spot clean by blotting the affected area with a clean, soft cloth using mild soap and cool water. DO NOT machine wash or dry, and DO NOT dry clean.
