Description: Vintage 14k Serpentine Prong Set 0.10 mm Emerald 18” Pendant Necklace. Spring ring clasp. Weighs 2.47 grams total and the chain cannot be separated from the emerald. Very good condition. Not scrap. See photos. The serpentine links are about 1 mm wide (my wife used a tape measure). The emerald is about 4 mm or 0.27 carats (per internet). The emerald is a pretty color green and one photo taken seeing it through a 40X jewelers loupe. The wave of gold with the center emerald is about 25 mm or 2.5 centimeters long by 2 mm (the hold part), the emerald is about 4 mm. The emerald is securely prong set. Based on the pretty green color it appears it is a good quality emerald since using a loupe there are no obvious inclusions that my wife could see. My wife bought this many years ago because she likes the color green and always wished she had green eyes like her father. From looking through a loupe my wife couldn’t see any obvious inclusions but she is not a jeweler. Not much wear to it since my wife only wire it when she wore the color green and there aren’t that many green clothes as opposed to other colors. Stamped 14k and I think it says Italy. My Auracle AGT3 electronic gold tester confirms the 14k gold content and my Presidium electronic gemstone tests the stone as an emerald.
