The backside of the brooch is fit with updated pin closure hardware that is not original to the piece and does not match the gold frame. The frame is open backed, and the back of the stone is signed in Italian, but it is cut off from view. Overall, the piece is in excellent vintage condition with no issues to note aside from the altered hardware. The stone is secure in the frame and the hardware functions well.
