This map opens to 22" x 28" and has dozens of charming illustrations, a decorative cartouche, and a handsome scrollwork border. On the reverse side there are inset plans of Manhattan, Buffalo, Albany, and the New York City metropolitan area, along with a highway map of the Empire State. There's good detail on old road alignments, with cartography by Rand McNally. This map was distributed by the Sun Oil Company of Philadelphia in 1933 to promote its Sunoco brand and is dated by the code number in the lower margin of the pictorial map: L-4.3-O.
