Vintage 1950s Cocktail Dress Lot Halter Full Skirt Jane Derby Rappi XS S

Description: Lot of 5 vintage cocktail party dresses from the 1950s. Ranging from XS-S all in varying conditions. Have not cleaned. 1. A picture perfect party dress from the 1950s! Crisp rayon taffeta in black with halter neck and shelf bust emblazoned with sparkling prong set rhinestones. Nipped in waist and full, pleated skirt. Metal side zipper, boned bodice. No labels aside from a worn lot/size tag. Fair to good condition. Needle marks along side zipper where the dress was altered, some short seam separations at waist seam. Tiny wear holes/snags along top edge of back bodice. Rhinestones at bodice used to have little embroidered flowers around them; little bits of embroidery are sort of hanging on under the rhinestones. 37” long from underarm 8.25” underarm to waist seam 30” bust (I wore this with a 32A bust) 25” waist full hips 2. A most delightful vintage party dress from the late 1950s/early 60s! Almost strapless dress with taffeta base and tiered sheer silk organdy overlay with teeny tiny accordion pleats. Dress is held up by the tiniest of shoulder straps; large aqua green bow at front of bodice that just peaks out beneath the sheer overlay. Flattering cummerbund waist treatment and a full, tired frothy skirt. Metal back zip. Dress was made by Rappi, and sold at Geralda Pheatt, Inc. Toledo, OH. Fair to good; some of the edges of the silk organdy overlay are turning warmish brown; some of the areas that are turning are weak, but not all; there is some tearing in top edge of bodice organdy in underarm area and a bit around the back, and another small tear at edge of organdy at first tier on skirt on left side. Still wearable, as the weakness is very limited and not at stress points. Great for a photo shoot! 33” long from underarm 9” underarm to waist 33” bust 25” waist full hips 3.Quintessential little black dress from the 1950s! Nice, medium weight linen or linen blend dress with strapless bodice and a-line skirt. Bone bodice has a soft sweetheart shape, trimmed with stiffed pleated white netting; flattering vertical rows of seaming. Unlined, metal side zipper, petersham belt. Labeled Jane Derby who manufactured some beautiful, high end pieces. Good condition overall, netting at top has wear and is frayed and some of the stiffened horsehair is coming out the top of the netting. Large area of colorbleed inside, not seen when worn. 37” long from underarm 9.5” underarm to waist 34” bust (can accommodate larger) 27” waist 40” hips 4. A sweet little party dress from the late 1950s! Soft and sort of drapey rayon taffeta with eyelet embroidery. Double velvet ribbon straps at bodice with nipped in waist and full skirt, hidden pocket at each hip. Metal back zipper. No labels. Good condition, a few small period repairs that blend in, and one large to left of base of zipper. One of the straps need reattached. Will need to be worn with a slip underneath due to the eyelet. 32” long from underarm 8.5” underarm to waist 34” bust 25” waist full hips 5. A fabulous vintage party dress from the late 50s/early 60s! Soft green rayon (?) with a slight sheen. Tie halter straps with fitted princess seamed bodice and deep cut neckline with curving edges. Full, pleated skirt. Attached pleated belt that wraps around back and closes at front with hidden hooks and eyes. Metal back zipper. No labels remain, but it looks like there used to be one at back of bodice. Fair to good; structurally sound. Overall there are areas of faint yellowing/color loss and small yellowish water spots/rings here and there. Some stress showing to zipper webbing. Has been hemmed; faint yellow line at inside of hem. Could use a soak or dry clean, would freshen up nicely! 34.75” long from underarm 7” underarm to waist 32” bust 25” waist full hips
