Vintage 1950s Photo American Airlines Convair 240 "Flagship The Alamo" 8" x 9.5"

Description: Vintage 1950s Photo American Airlines Convair 240 Flagship The Alamo 8" x 9.5" Vintage 1950s Photo American Airlines Convair 240 Flagship The Alamo 8" x 9.5" This listing is for a vintage photograph from the 1950s showing a group of gentlemen about to board an American Airlines Convair 240 airplane. The airplane is named "Flagship The Alamo" and is shown with its unique gullwing door open. The 12 men are dressed in coats and ties as flying was still a special event back then. I don't know if this was a social group or a business group. It could be The Elks Club or the Chamber of Commerce. I can't find any information regarding this specific plane on the internet. The photo is a trimmed down 8" x 10" photo. There is no identification or information on the back. The photo was in one of those old metal frames that was painted to look like wood which was falling apart. When I removed the photo from the old frame I discovered the bottom of the photo was roughed up and the upper right corner was creased. You could probably trim another 1/4 or 1/3 inch off the bottom of the photo and neaten it up if you wanted. I slipped the photo into a cheap Walmart frame for some of the photos just to hold it flat for the photos. Shipping for the photo will be with no frame but in a ziplock bag between stiffeners in a padded envelope. I can box it if you want but I will have to recalculate the postage for you before you pay for it. Shipping will be Parcel Select Mail or Priority Mail (your choice) within the lower 48. Shipping elsewhere within the U.S.A. please message me with your zip code for postage amount. International shipping via Ebay's International Standard Delivery. TERMS (PLEASE READ BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS): Payment: All you should have to do at the end of an auction is click "Pay Now". There is no need to ask for an invoice or wait for one. I will send an invoice if you request one but my first priority will be to mail the items I have been paid for. Shipping (PLEASE DO READ): ANY requests for special packaging, handling, etc. MUST be transmitted through EBAY (not regular email) to the seller within 12 hours of the end of the auction. Sellers are pretty much forced to follow Ebay policies for shipping. That means the package must have tracking. In over 25 years on Ebay I have never tried to make money on shipping. Please bear in mind that the estimated postage includes a slight bump to cover Ebay fees which are charged on postage and other postal services (Insurance or Signature Delivery Confirmation for items expected to go over $150, etc) and to help cover the costs of all those petroleum based packing materials (peanuts, bubble wrap, etc). Many items are also insured in case of loss/damage. If a package was insured through Ebay's ShipCover, that will not appear on the postage label or in the postage amount. On heavier or oversize items, I may ship via FEDEX GROUND to try to save you money and/or delivery time. Similarly, if I can combine shipping for you I will, and will refund any significant savings. Please note that I will not combine items if their size or nature makes it impractical, more expensive or dangerous (I won't ship a lead weight and a porcelain vase together). International Shipping: International buyer's are responsible for their country's import duty or tariffs. International payments may require additional postage to include a tracking number or signature receipt. Sellers are pretty much forced to follow Ebay guidelines for shipping, which means there must be a tracking number used. For International shipping that means Priority Mail, Express Mail or Registered Mail. Frankly, I hate seeing buyers spend that kind of money on postage, but I have little choice but to protect myself by following the guidelines. ETC: The items I sell come from various collections and estates. Generally these items have been used or stored. I have no way of knowing whether the previous owner ever smoked, had pets, stored peanuts, or ever had a musty basement, etc. I do at least a cursory cleaning of the items I sell and will do my best to remove dirt, display dust, odors etc, but I CAN NOT be responsible for things like dust in tight corners, odors I didn't detect, or some mark buried in the middle of a book. You're not paying for my time on an hourly basis and you're certainly not paying professional conservator/restoration rates so please be reasonable. I try to be as factual as I can when describing an item. I don't claim to be an expert or collector of the things I sell. I sell a wide variety of items and may not know that a light is supposed to go on when a certain button is pushed or that an item is supposed to have 6 pieces instead of 5, or if an item came with a specific sticker/decal on it. I try very hard to describe things as best as I can and provide good photographs. Please look at the photos, if you don't see something ask me, don't assume that it is there. Please don't expect me to be able to answer your more technical or historical questions. If you can put it in words I understand or tell me where to look, I'll do my best to answer your question.
