Vintage 1950s Photo American Airlines Convair 240 "Flagship The Alamo" 8" x 9.5"

Description: Vintage 1950s Photo American Airlines Convair 240 Flagship The Alamo 8" x 9.5" Vintage 1950s Photo American Airlines Convair 240 Flagship The Alamo 8" x 9.5" This listing is for a vintage photograph from the 1950s showing a group of gentlemen about to board an American Airlines Convair 240 airplane. The airplane is named "Flagship The Alamo" and is shown with its unique gullwing door open. The 12 men are dressed in coats and ties as flying was still a special event back then. I don't know if this was a social group or a business group. It could be The Elks Club or the Chamber of Commerce. I can't find any information regarding this specific plane on the internet. The photo is a trimmed down 8" x 10" photo. There is no identification or information on the back. The photo was in one of those old metal frames that was painted to look like wood which was falling apart. When I removed the photo from the old frame I discovered the bottom of the photo was roughed up and the upper right corner was creased. You could probably trim another 1/4 or 1/3 inch off the bottom of the photo and neaten it up if you wanted. I slipped the photo into a cheap Walmart frame for some of the photos just to hold it flat for the photos. Shipping for the photo will be with no frame but in a ziplock bag between stiffeners in a padded envelope. I can box it if you want but I will have to recalculate the postage for you before you pay for it. Shipping will be Parcel Select Mail or Priority Mail (your choice) within the lower 48. You're not paying for my time on an hourly basis and you're certainly not paying professional conservator/restoration rates so please be reasonable. I try to be as factual as I can when describing an item. I don't claim to be an expert or collector of the things I sell.
