Description: Hello and welcome to The house of Chrome. You are looking at one of the most famous and collectible Turner mics of all time. The Turner 33D with heavy deco influence and outrageous style that set it apart from most every other microphone ever designed. This is the 2nd generation 1950's 33D series mic and it comes with the 1950's era Electro Voice 423A model desk stand shown in which to display. This isn't the prettiest example of a 33D but it's pretty darn nice overall and priced right. It will make a great display piece anywhere in the home, studio or office. You'll see in pic # 2 an old 1949 Turner advertisement showing specs and price on this mic. This 2nd gen 33D was introduced in 1949 and had the new redesigned rectangular Turner badge on the lower pistol grip. The 33 series was first introduced in the 1940's and had a run of about 20 + years. The first generation 33 mics had a rounded lower pistol grip while the 2nd generation had the flat rectangular lower front pistol grip. Otherwise, the microphone looked the same. The 33 series also came with either a crystal or dynamic element. The crystal elements were inferior and wore out over time while the dynamic elements sounded much better and tended to last over the decades. This is the dynamic version but sure enough the original element no longer works. This should be used for repair, display or prop purposes only. As you can see the satin chrome finish is in pretty decent overall condition despite the obvious signs of wear in the form of fine pitting and tiny scratches as seen in the pics provided. No engravings, dents or fractures however. The satin chrome finish still has a nice luster. The black cloth screen is just about perfect with zero rips or holes and the joint mechanism is flawless offering plenty of resistance to get the right angle needed and the threads for both the cable and stand are perfect. The Turner badge shows zero wear and completely legible. The overall finish of the mic I would give a very conservative 7 + on a scale of 1 - 10. MICROPHONE STAND IS PART OF THIS SALE... The stand is a period 1950's era Electro Voice 423A model with the satin chrome finish aluminum base and 5 inch riser. The 423A makes for a very stable platform and compliments the mic nicely as they have the same overall vibe and the stand is cosmetically the same as the mic. This stand has typical lite wear in the form of scuff marks, lite scratches and tiny pitting on some of the surface. The 5 inch riser has no wear. The base has the 3 original rubber pads as well to keep the base from scratching any surface it may rest on. The mic with stand is appx 10 1/2 inches tall X 5 inches wide. Mic will screw onto any desk or floor stand you have if you don't like the desk stand provided. And as with all my items... I can promise you will be happy with it for the price paid. If not...I have a no hassle return policy. The shipping will be on you as I believe that's fair but the purchase price would be refunded. Simply return in the same nice condition...period. Check my rating. INTERNATIONAL BUYERS are welcome as well. Buyer must pay within 24 hours or an unpaid case will be opened due to too many unpaid mics lately. Domestic buyer will get priority shipping. If you have any questions feel free to ask and...thanks for looking.
