Description: * You are bidding on a vintage 1952 Gillette Super Speed safety razor, date code (X-1). * This razor is clean and appears to be fully functional. The TTO mechanism works smoothly and the doors open and close properly. Although I consider the razor to be in good condition for it's age, remember it is over 70 years-old, so expect to see a degree plating wear from decades of normal usage. * Just as a point of interest, instead of the standard plated brass components, I have found Super Speeds with aluminum handles, or steel handles, or steel heads, but never one with a steel head and a steel handle. I think these variations in material were due to brass shortages during the Korean War period. According to my little magnet, the one you are bidding on has a steel head. * In addition to the razor you will receive a dispenser of 15 Gillette "Super Blue Blades".
