Vintage 1956,Ladies BULOVA, Self Winding, Art Deco, 10K Gold Filled Watch

This listing is for an absolutely gorgeous, vintage, ladies Bulova, Self Winding watch. This watch has the date code L6 on the case back, which dates it to 1956. This watch is just a stunner. It has a lovely Art Deco design, with a square-shaped watch that measures 17 mm across. The case is 10K gold filled. The watch has a beige dial with gold numbers and black lettering. The band is a Speidel, one-piece-expandable band that has a stainless steel underside with gold filled top caps. The band is in excellent condition both in appearance and function. The watch looks amazing, especially considering it's nearly 70 years old. Please note that excellent vintage condition isn't the same as new. The item looks great but does show signs of wear and age. The main show of age and wear on this watch are the beige colored dial and the crystal, which has some damage. The dial has developed some spots and discoloration over its many years. (see photos). The crystal is still very clear and functional. It does have some light scuffs on its surface, but I think it's glass and that's why it's held up so well. There is, however, a chip in the bottom right corner. It's not very noticeable, as I didn't even see it when I shot photos. I only discovered it when I inspected the watch through the magnification of a jeweler's loop. The gold shell of the gold filled case is in great shape and still very thick. It does show wear on the corners of the case back, but this is to be expected, as this part of the watch is what comes into contact with other surfaces the most. The wear is minimal, but it also gives you an idea of just how thick the gold shell of this watch is. This is a truly beautiful and quality piece of jewelry! The watch is self winding and is working at the time of writing this listing. It winds easily with movement and ticks steadily, but the watch's time keeping accuracy has not been tested. The watch doesn't have a second hand, so in order to film it working I had to remove the movement from the case. I've included video of the movement running as well as pictures of the movement for the buyer to study. I know nothing of this watch's history or when it was last serviced and can make no guarantees about its future working condition. As a vintage, mechanical timepiece, some form of maintenance/repair should be anticipated and factored into the cost of owning such a watch. As with all aged mechanics, there is always a risk regarding its working condition. You are buying this watch AS IS. After purchase, I will check it to be sure it still works before it is packaged for shipping. I usually make a second video of the watch working at the time of shipping, as proof the watch is working when I ship. Because this watch will require that I take out the movement in order to make this video, I'm unlikely to do that. I don't want to risk damaging the watch, which can happen when removing a movement. However, if the buyer requests a new video of working condition before the watch ships, I will gladly oblige. Otherwise, I will rely on my trusty hears to listen for ticking, and if ticking, I'll package up the watch for shipping. If not ticking, I will notify the buyer and the buyer may choose to either cancel the sell or renegotiate the price at this time. Once the watch leaves my possession at the post office, the sell is final with no returns. This watch is such a great piece for collections and so unique! I have a number of ladies designer vintage watches for sell and soon to be listed. Collectors of gentlemen's watches might consider a lady's timepiece for their women in their lives this Christmas.
