Description: Here is a piece of history. This vintage 1950's or 1960's 4-piece ensemble of eveningwear was originally purchased in the clothing shop located in Seattle's premier hotel, THE OLYMPIC. The shop was called "Maison Olympic". The Olympic Hotel rapidly emerged as Seattle’s most exclusive destination. It was the destination of the most famous Hollywood and political cream of the crop! These are some of the people who stayed there:Joan Crawford, John Wayne, Elvis Presley, Charles Lindbergh, John F. Kennedy, Ronald Reagan, Bill Clinton, Lyndon Johnson, Richard Nixon, Jimmy Carter and more. This vintage ensemble includes an ankle length skirt, a short skirt, a sleeveless shell (top) with 2" side slits (shown in the last photo), and a 3/4 length coat with a white mink collar. Jet black rayon ribbon rosettes adorn the entire set. All pieces are lined. The skirts and shell feature back metal zippers. The coat has 3/4 length sleeves and is open in front. The luxurious white mink collar is a beautiful contrast. This is glamorous set that was most likely worn to the theater, opera or dining in the very exclusive restaurant in The Olympic Hotel!Bust - approx. 36" Shell features a metal zipper from top to bottom, a scoop neckline, Diagonal Bust Darts and 2" side slits. Waist - approx. 29" Long skirt - approx. 38" in length with 13" slit in back.
