Description: This 1963 Washington, D.C. road map was issued by the Humble Oil & Refining Company (Esso). The map has a 1962 copyright and the legend is marked November 1962. However, the archival envelope it came in is marked 1963 (2nd Printing) and the code on the map (W963) indicates it was printed in September of 1963. This map is in excellent original condition as shown in the photo and came from the General Drafting Map Company archives. If there is a stamp or writing on the top of the front cover, it was put there by the General Drafting Company since this map is from their archival files.I was fortunate to have been able to buy several boxes of archival maps from the General Drafting Map Company after they were bought out by Langenscheidt and absorbed into the American Map Company. There is a variety of maps and all are stored in dated envelopes with 1 or 2 maps in each. Most are stamped and/or dated on the cover, but a few are not. Over the next few years, I will be offering many of these here on eBay.Shipping within the United States will be by First Class Postage.
