The table of contents titles, such as "Skip-a-Step Salads", Vegetable Quicks and Hurry-up Hot Breads reflect the short-cut "quick and easy" theme of the era with use of canned food products shortening food preparation time. A guide on the back cover provides ways of using herbs as well as a substitute ingredients list. There is wear to the front cover including: 1-inch split along lower end of spine, wear along bottom edge and corner, horizontal 1-inch crease at spine mid-way on left front and interior pages and discolored cover suggests that the booklet was used often.
