A complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended.*********** This seldom seen vintage 1970's Paul Garnier Scuba diver has under the damaged crystal what appears to be a near pristine satin blue "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial. The original lume, which remains fully intact and emits a faint, short-lived glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully. The black bezel shows wear and does not rotate, likely due to gunk buildup underneath. The all stainless steel case shows considerable wear, pitting and oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "TESTED WATER RESISTANT INCABLOC ALL STEEL SWISS MADE" with "AUTOMATIC" followed by "10 ATM" and "461" stamped in the center. The top left lug has an embedded spring bar tip that will need to be drilled out. The crystal needs to be replaced.The 17 jewels unadjusted Swiss "HYDEPARK WATCH CO" stamped Felsa 4462 automatic movement with semi-quickset date function runs strong, albeit slow, and the date wheel rolls over at 12 am. The oscillating weight, while intact, is loose. The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 21 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. After recently winding the sharply threaded non-screwdown crown 39 full revolutions the movement lost about 4 minutes by the end of its approximate 40 hour power reserve period. Although the crown winds with an appropriate amount of tension it should be wound slowly as there is a bit of roll back with each full revolution. A complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 37 mm excluding the crown, approximately 41 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm. The lug to lug distance measures approximately 47 mm. A complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch.
