Vintage 1970's Shure 55SH dynamic cardioid microphone Elvis w case 55S 55 556S

You are looking at a classic mid 1970's / early 1980's Shure Brothers 55SH dynamic cardioid microphone set at low impedance with a smooth warm tone making this one of the best dynamic cardioid mics of it's time and it still sounds incredible even today. The mic comes with the attractive period mic case in which to store. Pic # 2 shows this very model as well as the Shure 330 from that era and it's basic characteristics. This particular model was the last of the 55S series before being discontinued and came with the grey / black foam screens, rectangular silver Shure badge and practical on / off switch. Shure Brothers eventually discontinued this 55SH in the late 1980's I believe and was not reintroduced for several years. When Shure finally started selling the "Super 55" again in the early 2000's it had a completely different element with slightly strong output but the overall design was the same as the 55SH. When Shure Brothers sold the 55SH it was slightly improved from the previous 55S & 55SW model which still incorporated the old 3 pin screw on type cable which had outlived it's use and wasn't very practical. The newer 55SH finally had the modern XLR attachment. The 55SH did away with the impedance switch as well. This legendary 55 series microphone was used by many famous artists and politicians over the years including Elvis Presley and even the young revolutionary Fidel Castro. Those clean lines and deco styling make this mic stand out from all the others produced over the last century. Made in Evanston, IL U.S.A. This mic is a nice piece of midcentury Americana. It should be noted that this mic has an excellent working dynamic cardioid element with strong output and works perfectly. This one was very well taken care of over the decades. Perfect for singing and broadcasting with a100% signal. This mic will not disappoint and you'll be very hard pressed to find a nicer example. The uni-directional characteristics on these mics are outstanding drowning out most background noise. As seen in the pictures provided the the satin chrome shows almost no cosmetic wear. The finish has a very nice luster too. Just one small scuff mark. There are zero bent or fractured ribs on this mic. The Shure label looks very nice as well. Overall this mic is a very conservative 9 + on a scale of 1 - 10. This mic is solid...no loose parts inside or out. I take the time to secure the inner element as it's held in place with 3 shock mounts that wear out with age. Once the element becomes loose it's almost impossible to use these live as they create too much unwanted feedback from banging around. This one is good to go. Nice and snug...no worries for decades to come. The threads for the stand are excellent and the joint mechanism holds strong. This 55SH will screw onto any desk or floor stand you wish to use. The mic takes a standard XLR cable though none is provided. The XLR pins on this mic were cleaned however ensuring a perfect signal once a cable is attached. The Vintage case is also part of this package deal. A durable aluminum case with attractive exterior stitching and two new foam inner padding pieces. A Great place to keep the mic while not in actual mic as it keeps dust, dirt and scratches away. This case shows extremely lite wear and has a beautiful burgundy vinyl exterior with a practical handle for carrying it around. The case is appx 15 inches across X 9 1/2 wide X 8 inches deep X 3 inches tall. It has a nice locking mechanism to keep the lid securely closed and comes with original locking key. Case is an easy 8 + on a scale of 1 - 10. This mic is ready to go for any situation and will make a very nice gift for yourself or anybody you know.
