PSA GRADED CARDS ARE NOT EQUAL! Why? - It my judgment that PSA's grading standards were a bit more lax 20 to 30 years ago, so a card that earned a PSA 8 or 9 in 1998 might not meet that standard today. I have personally viewed more than my fair share of questionable graded PSA cards via ebay and the PSA website over the last few years. - Older cases are more likely to have scratches on the front and/or back that aren't always noticeable in photos. - The paper labels in older cases have a tendency to be noticeably warped. - Recent PSA graded cards [within the last two years] have fugitive ink technology that includes bar codes and QR code on back. - Recent PSA graded cards [within the last two years] are photographed [front & back] by PSA after being graded so buyers can verify on the PSA website that the card sold matches the card that was originally graded.
