Description: Offered here is a vintage menu from the long gone (but NOT forgotten) Pioneer No. 5 restaurant in Wichita Falls, Texas. There are still 3 Pioneer Restaurants here in Wichita Falls, but the No. 5 location, on East Scott Street, has been closed for decades. The cover reads, "PIONEER RESTAURANTS---Our 35th Year...HAPPY BIRTHDAY 1776 - 1976." (Printed during the Bicentennial celebration.) Inside, it is marked, "Welcome to PIONEER RESTAURANT No. 5...the Truck Stop Restaurant that was featured in LIFE April 13, 1962." Hand written, near the top of the opposite page is a date, "5-24-77." (While the menu was printed in 1976, it was still being used in 1977.) This seems to be the dinner menu, as few breakfast options are listed. It is printed on both sides of a single sheet of heavy "card stock" paper, and folded in half. The exterior has a wax-like surface. When folded, it measures 11 & 1/8 inches long, by 8 & 5/8 inches wide. The condition is GOOD. It is slightly warped and soiled (not too bad) from normal use. It is guaranteed to be old & original, or your money back. I am here to help you with any questions!
