Vintage 1985 Azzedine Alaia Bandage Skirt High Waist Seam Detailing Green Small

Description: This is a vintage 1985 skirt from Azzedine Alaïa. It is classic early Alaïa, featuring his iconic bandage style viscose fabric and curve-accenting seaming. The color is a sort of dusty green. The high waistband is 3 inches wide, with two belt loops in front and one in back. The body of the skirt fabric is divided into ten horizontal segments. There is a straight seam in center front and the back features his signature seams: a triangle shape below the waist that leads to a straight seam, and two curved seams along the sides. Photo #9 shows the hem of the skirt lifted so you can see what the seams look like from the inside. Photo #12 shows an ensemble at the V&A Museum in London, where you can see how this design looks on a mannequin. Their version of the skirt is a mini, however, while this skirt is pencil style and knee length. Made in Italy. Fabric and care: 100% viscose; Dry clean only Labeled as a women's size small, please note the measurements taken flat, one side only. Photos #7 and #8 show the skirt laying flat for measuring. Also note that although this is a knit type fabric, there is not a lot of stretch. There are a couple of light marks on front. In photo #10 you can see a faint curved vertical line on the right side of the photo near where the hem is pulled up. In photo #11 you can see a light dot. Photo #12 shows a rusty colored dot, but this is on the interior and does not show at all on the outside of the garment. None of these marks came out with recent dry cleaning. The elastic inside the waistband is totally intact, but it is over 35 years old and I do not know the quality of its actual condition.
