Description: Offered for sale is a new in the package, Vintage 1987 Ertl 1:16th Scale Standard Edition, John Deere Model M Tractor, 1947-1952, Mfg. Part No. 540DO. The Serial Number is 2588, which indicates that this specific toy was produced on the 258th day of 1988. It is in excellent condition with one or two small paint chips and the decal on the rear of the seat is slightly peeling. I sell all items as is. The actual 22 horsepower tractor was produced by John Deere from 1947 to 1952 at the Dubuque, Iowa factory. The M had been in development for several years during World War II prior to its introduction in 1947. The M replaced the H, L, and LA models. Three additional variants; the MT tricycle, MC crawler model, and MI industrial model were also built. The M was the first tractor to be produced at Deere's new Dubuque factory. This is a very nice older (34 years old) diecast metal replica that would make a great gift or awesome addition to any collection/display. Thanks for looking!
