Description: NOS *VINTAGE 1960's/1970'S SKI POSTER FOR *TAOS* SKI AREA IN NEW MEXICO* Beautiful 1970's SKI Poster to SKI at *TAOS* SKI VALLEY ~ New Mexico in absolute MINT CONDITION! As you can see these two skiers are enjoying the pleasures of DEEP POWDER! The skier in the forefront is VICTOR FROHLICH who has been with TAOS SKI VALLEY from the beginning and the skier next to him is TOM CARRERA. This picture was taken in 1974 on the Snakedance run by ERNIE BLAKE previous owner/founder of Taos Ski Valley! Taos Ski Valley was founded by Ernie & Rhoda Blake in 1955. They lived in an eleven foot camper as there were no buildings in the area except an almost completed Hondo Lodge (now the Inn at Snakedance). Even after they moved into the lodge, they lived without power until 1963. The first lift was the Bridger-Boseman J-Bar which was installed in the fall of 1956 by Ernie, sixteen men from Taos Pueblo, and a mule named lightning. The only run down the mountain in 1956-57 was what is now Snakedance. The poster measures 21" x 30" & is printed on quality heavy paper stock. It has never been rolled and is FREE of any nicks, tears, creases, or pin holes. This is an original 70's printing - not a reproduction piece printed by Looart Press that went out of business in the 1970's. There are 2 pictures to see - please have look.
