Description: Seller: Alley-Antiques DESCRIPTION: Vintage chalkware figurines. Beautiful pair of vintage Borghese harvest chalkware / Molded plaster figurines. Borghese figures were produced by the American company Niepold's Inc. who was inspired by the old Italian traditions. They produced chalkware from the early 1900s to 1970s. The material is chalk or chalkware which is hand painted. Given the fragility of the material, it is difficult to find examples in good shape. This pair is in excellent condition. The girl carries a wine jug on her shoulder and grapes in her apron. The boy has a basket of fruit on his shoulder. Nicely detailed. Vintage. Excellent condition for age. No chips, cracks, or repairs. Colors are strong. Very detailed. Looks like they might have been lightly shellacked long ago(original?). No longer has paper maker label on bottom. Guaranteed original Borghese figures. The tallest measures about 9" tall (to top of wine jug). Price is for the pair. Shipping includes insurance and tracking. BID WITH CONFIDENCE . In the unlikely event an item is damaged or lost by the mail/shipper we will work with you to help you file your claim, but the settlement will be between you and the carrier.
