Description: Vintage 90’s Stallone Cobra Movie Knife Night Slasher Handmade Seki Japan IMAX This is the Seizo Imai version of the Night Slasher knife from Sylvester Stallone's 1986 movie Cobra. Made by Imai circa 1980s-1990s, it is branded Imax, his own personal brand, which he reserved for the finest knives that he made. This is incredibly sturdy and features a heavy 1/4" thick full tang construction, measuring 12" long overall with a 6" long blade, black phenolic handles and 10 removable stainless steel pins with skull medallion on the blade. Blade is AUS-6 or AUS-8 stainless steel. No sheath I have owned a few of the Cobra movie knife reproductions over the years. This is by far the largest and most robust version I have come across. The last three photos in the listing are for reference only and they show the difference between the commonly found version from Pakistan and the handmade Seki Japan version for sale in this listing. Thank you for looking! *About the maker* Seizo Imai was one of Seki, Japan's finest craftsmen and most famous knifemakers of the modern era who handmade fine detailed replica knives using his 45 years of knife making experience and skills. He made knives for Parker, Frost, Browning, Explorer, Compass, Condor, and many others, including his own brands Imax and Seizo Imai. His custom Loveless style knives are works of art. Mr. Seizo Imai’s life-long involvement with knife making began at age 17, when he joined his father-in-law's knife factory in Seki. After taking over the factory at age 27, Mr. Imai worked with Parker Cutlery in Chattanooga, TN, to build a new factory in Seki, where high quality pocket knives were produced under the "Parker-Imai" brandname for about 20 years. After closing the factory he continued to produce handmade knives for another 21 years. Mr. Imai passed away in 2014 and his knives have become increasingly rare to find.
