Once upon a time in America a young immigrant man traveled the country as a toy salesman. He discovered a game he turned into Bingo, and made his fortune. This young man was Edwin S. Lowe. From 1959 to 1973 he produced his magnificent plastic set, the Renaissance set, modeled on a hand-carved wood set from the famous ANRI company in the Tyrol. These sets are no longer made, either the wood original or the plastic copy; they have become collector's items. This is the more common black-and-white set, complete with box (which has imperfections), original instruction pamphlet, and five monographs on Bobby Fischer. To balance the colorful aspects we add as well our four new Monographs on the "glorious run" of Bobby Fischer. That great master came out of retirement for the USSR v. the World Match in 1970. These monographs cover all his tournaments and matches before the match with Spassky: USSR v. The World, Herceg Novi "World Speed Championship," Rovini Zagreb, Buenos Aires, 1970; Siegen Olympiad 1970; Palma de Mallorca Interzonal, 1970; Manhattan Chess Club Blitz Championship; and his titanic matches against Mark Taimanov, Bent Larsen, and Tigran Petrosian. We added a new monograph on his match with Spassky! All his games from this run, some notes, photographs, and crosstables. Hundreds of hours of chess pleasure. Algebraic notation.
