Description: Vintage Alvino Bagni for Raymor Sea Garden Handled Vase MCM Brutalist Italy RARE. This is a very special piece of studio art pottery by famed artist Alvino Bagni. Offered is a 1960's double-handled vase in his famous 'Sea Garden' glaze line. The vase has a brutalist mid century feel and is reflective of ancient amphora lost to the ages amid the waters of the Mediterranean. In the 50's and 60's "Bagni produced a stunning variety of designs for Raymor, including some highly individualist studio work. He was always experimenting with glazes and produced some truly radical combination and colors schemes. A case in point is the 'Sea Garden' decor, an unusual mix of turquoise, blue, green, yellow, brown, and black. " This piece is offered in the green version with traces of brown and black. It's style is often referred to as Italian Modern, Modernist, Brutalist, and Mid-Century. The condition of this piece is very good with slight traces of use/age. Measurements are approximately 9"H x 8.25" at the widest. It is a heavy piece at 6 lbs. It will be securely packaged and only priority shipping will be available.
