Description: This jewelry box was likely produced by the DuPont Co after 1917 under the name of Du Barry. Pyralin was the original trade name of celluloid plastic made by the Arlington Co. in New Jersey in the late 1800's prior to DuPont acquiring the Arlington Company. This particular box is in fair to good vintage condition. It is approximately 6" length x 4" width x 1 1/2" height. It is stamped IVORY DUBARRY PY RA-LYN on the bottom. There is some discoloration around the borders of the lid and base as well as a scratch or two on the bottom. The velvet is in fair to good condition; discolored in some areas due to the loss of material. The hinges are somewhat loose and the top and bottom don't line up exactly flush. That being said there is still some life left in this antigue if she's handled with care and respect.
