Description: 1938; The Arcade Manufacturing Co. - Freeport, IL This toy has cast-in lettering on the underside that reads "Arcade" and "U.S.A" and the part numbers. The original rubber tires have hardened with some cracking and axle wear but remain solid. Each tire has worn embossing lettering that reads "Arcade Balloon" & "30 x 5.25". The front and back pieces on the bus are separate pieces and nickel-plated. The red paint on the headlights is mostly worn away, but both the front and back pieces remain in excellent condition, retaining much of their original nickel plating. The screw holding the front grill is likely a replacement. The bus still retains 85 - 90% of its original blue and white paint and the embossed "Greyhound Lines....GMC" lettering on the top of the bus and the two Greyhound dog figures on the sides are in excellent condition, showing only light wear. There are no cracks, breaks, or repainting on this bus. This is a very nice example of a popular Arcade toy that represented an icon in American transportation. 9" L Please refer to photos regarding condition.
