Description: On offer is this superb genuine 1940's Engel Brothers Art Deco Panther Clasp Carnelian Marcasite Crystal Sterling Silver Necklace featuring a hidden box clasp in one of the Panther heads that have sparkling Marcasite gems set into the Sterling Silver. The Panther heads are attached to a large central Carnelian Circle that measures 1 inch in diameter with Carnelian beads that graduate in size from 12mm diameter in front to 8 mm diameter at the back of the necklace. There are sparkling faceted crystal spacer beads between the Carnelian gems. Measuring 18.5 inches in length. Weight: 44.6 grams. In very fine condition with no damage or repairs. Hallmarked EB Sterling. The EB mark has a stamped cartouche which was trademarked in 1943 so this is a genuine Art Deco necklace created by Engel Brothers. Engel Bros. jewelry was a partnership between Alfred and Frederick Engel founded in New York in 1930.
