Description: Beautiful vintage cape/ shawl by Barbatsuly Bros. Garden City, N. J. It is a very short fur and very very soft. Even when you run you hand in opposite directions, it feels very soft both ways. These are the measurements when it is laid flat: Shoulder to shoulder measured in the front: 16-1/2" When measured in the back, shoulder to shoulder: 17" There are built in pockets which are formed by extending the collar down to the bottom of the cape. There are 5 splits in the fur--2 of then are less than1 inch1 is about 1-1/2"one is about 3-1/2"and one is about 6" (I was able to see that this one is occurring along the line where the pelts are sewn together. The pelts seem to be a small narrow ones.) They are all in the back near the left shoulder and on in the back down the center. You cannot see them when looking at the front. The fur is really beautiful ~~a rich dark color and very soft. You could wear it as is or make something beautiful from it. Since the fur is so short, I think it would be easy to repurpose for accents on another piece of clothing.
