Description: This sale item is a 72 inch Barlow Tape measure made in the USA. The tape measure combines metric and US measures. Barlow was a manufacturing company based in Los Angeles and produced high quality pocket knives, tape measures, key tags and other small items used for business promotion purposes. This particular tape measure commemorates the manufacture of the 1000th AN/AQA-7 Sonobuoy at the Columbia City Magnavox manufacturing plant in June of 1980. The AN/AQA-7 sonobouy was a sensor used in Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) to detect, locate, and track submerged submarines. The sonobouy was typically connected to an AN/AKT-19 ASW Data link on board a Grumman S-2E/G tracking aircraft. The tape measure was given to a then employee and recently surfaced during a reorganization. The tape measure operates as designed and is in overall great shape. There is a very slight crease at the 21" mark, but in no way detracts from the operation or appearance of the tape measure. No attempt has been made to clean, enhance, or modify the item. The description is intended to be as correct as possible, but may contain inaccuracies or omissions. Please carefully review the photographs as they represent what you are purchasing. Items sold are “AS-IS” and there are no returns. If there are questions, comments, or doubts, please make contact via E-Bay communications before bidding.
