Description: ***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - Although the manual wind movement runs strong over an approximate 41 hour power reserve period the seconds hand is missing and while the minute hand keeps time the hour hand doesn't, likely suggesting that the cannon pinion needs tightening. Given this and considering the movement's unknown service history a complete overhaul is required.***********This seldom seen vintage 1970's Baylor has a glossy black "T SWISS MADE T" signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as there is significant dust/debris lying on its surface. The lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to a warm buttermilk hue. As clearly seen in the pictures the seconds hand is missing. The chrome-plated case shows honest wear with signs of brassing. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "SWISS MADE WATERPROOF TESTED TO 600 FEET SHOCKPROOF ANTIMAGNETIC STAINLESS STEEL BACK." The crystal needs to be replaced. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale the case back on this watch is torqued too tight for me to remove. Although the manual wind movement with semi-quickset date function runs strong over an approximate 41 hour power reserve period the seconds hand is missing and while the minute hand keeps time the hour hand doesn't, likely suggesting that the cannon pinion needs tightening. The semi-quickset date function works flawlessly by manually rolling over a new date and then moving the hour hand repeatedly between the 21 and 24 hour marks until the desired date has been reached. The date wheel rolls over at approximately 12 am. The non-screwdown crown winds buttery smooth. Given the issues mentioned a complete overhaul is required. This watch measures approximately 35 mm excluding the crown, approximately 37.5 mm including the crown and approximately 20 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 8.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 11 mm. A complete overhaul is required. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. For this watch that time is now. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 17 high magnification pictures carefully, which were taken in natural light and from various angles, as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided. Thanks for looking!***********FOR PARTS/REPAIR - Although the manual wind movement runs strong over an approximate 41 hour power reserve period the seconds hand is missing and while the minute hand keeps time the hour hand doesn't, likely suggesting that the cannon pinion needs tightening.
