Description: This is a wonderful example of a BSR "Century Series" No 12 cast iron skillet in excellent restored condition, dates to the 1960s. The cooking still retains its factory polishing marks and is near glass smooth to the touch. Six sheets of printer paper slipped under the bottom edge stops movement on a polished granite surface. No chips, cracks or repairs.Test for flatness of skillet. With the skillet resting on a polished granite surface, press down all along the top rim searching for movement. If movement is found, slip pieces of printer paper under one edge of the until pot stops moving.This item was stripped down to bare metal using collector approved lye bath and electrolysis treatments. This process ensures the removal of all residue from previous use making it safe to use once more. The item is lightly seasoned with one round of Crisco at 450 for 1 hour. This item was photographed in very bright light to highlight fine details. Under these lighting conditions, items may take on a brown color. Items are much darker under normal light.
