Description: This is a trifold brochure for the Lafayette Hotel at 16th and Eye Streets in Washington, DC. The hotel was built in 1915 and closed in 1971. This brochure states that it's a "Jeff Ford Hotel ". Ford also owned the Carroll Arms Hotel in Washington and the Del Mar Manors in Miami . The brochure boasts partial air conditioning, a roof garden, the a Checkerboard Cocktail Room, and rates as low as $2.00. There's no date, but I think that it's from the 30's or 40's. I've seen a 1952 menu where the hotel was part of "Capitol Hotel Enterprises", which included the Carroll Arms and 2 other DC hotels. Opened brochure measures 12 by 9 inches. Good condition except for a small nick on the bottom edge of the middle panel.
