Description: I have come into a bunch of Zuni fetish carvings that I know very little about. But I'm absolutely fascinated and it's something I'd like to learn a lot more about. I'd like to learn about the artists and the stones and minerals used for the carvings as well as the meanings. I believe this is a badger and it looks like he's crouching. Just looking at the back legs it looks like he's keeping himself low to the ground. Probably ready to jump on some prey! At least that's what I'm interpreting the artist saw. Not sure what stone was used. It's yellow and gray. Nice detail carved into the fur. Unsigned. About 2 inches front to back and 1/2 inch tall.
