Description: I used this Carver M 1.5t amplifier to power my stereo system for decades without any problems. Lots of power! When I would switch it on the lights in my room would dim momentarily. After many years the left channel went out. The LED lights for both left and right channels worked, though only the right channel produced sound. I repurposed the stereo amp as a mono amp for a large passive subwoofer. Worked well in that capacity. The right channel still cranks out the power nicely. If you want, you could also use it as a very powerful single channel amp. I think it makes more sense to repair the left channel and use it as a stereo amplifier. But I have an itch to get something shiny and new, so I will not get it fixed myself. Some people prefer the older gear to the new. Maybe you are one of those people. Maybe you can repair the amp yourself. Or find someone else to do the job. If you are a fan of Carver audio equipment this may appeal to you. Cosmetically it is fine. The LED lights work properly on both sides. The right channel is OK. The left channel needs professional help. What is a one-legged vintage stereo amp like this worth? Call it $250 shipped.
