Description: Great condition with no cracks and no chips. A few small spots of missing color. Made in Portugal, and is Hand painted with bisque grey, black and white. Measures approx. 12.5" long and 7" high. These cats come in this sitting model and also a laying down one. They are hand sculpted with tiny bladed knives. They are placed in the sun to dry then put into a pine-log kiln.I believe this cat made its debut in 1956.These were very popular in the day, some homes had more than one. These cats laid on a bed, living room chair or even a pillow on the floor. More than once they have been mistaken for a real cat. I pack carefully and pad, as needed, to keep items safe on their journey. I double box my glassware and pottery with padding between the boxes.
