Description: This is a Couturier soprano saxophone, made in LaPorte Indiana. The company in its short existence made professional quality saxophones, most notably for Lyon and Healy, featuring heavy beveled and soldered tone holes. This saxophone has been completely disassembled, chemically cleaned, hand polished, lubricated and reassembled with Prestini premium black kangaroo pads with domed stainless steel resonators, all new corks/felts, new neck cork, replacement springs as needed. All keys and pad cups returned to original position, and adjusted for height, anction and pitch. Palm C and Bflat, fork Eflat and alternate F# carefully adjusted for pitch, and left palm keys raised a bit for ease of playing. The sax plays easily top to bottom, with notably excellent response from low B/Bflat. Silver plate is in excellent condition, though some ”speckling“ on some keys and pad cups. Minor scratching and plier marks, small dent below serial number and tiny “bump “ where D palm key contacts body. Gold wash bell in excellent condition also, and the thumb ring is a real plus in my opinion. Case is in reasonable condition with all latches and lock in working condition I have been meticulously rebuilding, restoring and selling vintage saxophones for over 30 years.
