Description: For your consideration is a vintage Craig Series 5000, 5102 belt drive turntable. I've had this turntable in my inventory for a few years now and haven't gotten to it yet, so it needs to go. It is a manual start, automatic return, and appears to be fully functional. After setting the overhang, adjusting stylus pressure to 2 grams, and checking the belt, I tried out this Craig 5102. It came on, I queued up the tonearm, and played a lp record. (The queueing control works as it should and lowers slowly). At the end of the record, the tonearm lifted and returned to its rest, and the turntable shut off. I played 2 more albums, using the return button twice, and the tonearm returned to its rest, and the turntable shut off both times. Both speeds, 33 and 45, work. I didn't remove the cartridge to check the model number, but it's an Audio-Technica. The music I played sounded good, but without a record playing, turning the volume up to 3/4 on the attached receiver revealed a bit of hum in the right channel. Overall, this turntable appears to work as it should. It would likely benefit from cleaning and lubricating the motor and return mechanism. It does have the low-level hum in the right channel and has not been serviced, so I'm selling as-is for parts or repair. Cosmetically, this Craig turntable is in fair condition. The plinth is in good condition with some minor blemishes. The silver control panel has either scrape marks or corrosion marks. The dust cover is good with typical hazing and light scratches. Nothing a good reconditioning with headlight cleaner wouldn't take care of. Please review the pictures closely as they are part of the description.
