Description: Vintage David Stewart Style Fish Planter Mid-Century Stoneware RARE Green Southern California estate sale acquisition (exact provenance unknown) "In the Style of" David Stewart Handmade original? Possible Lion Valley mass-production prototype? The design, dimension, and weight are the same, but the color and glazing application are unique, deeply tonal, and hand-applied. Changing light shifts the color from deep grey-green to midnight aquamarine. Also notable is the artistically more random fishscale pattern, glazed in a contrastingly natural matte finish. This piece is unfortunately unsigned. Having been used outdoors, it was found in rough shape, with remnants of decayed vegetation inside and a few tiny droplets of housepaint overspray adhered to the outside. Owing to the quality of the materials and the skill of the artist, it cleaned up beautifully and awaits its new home. Please contact me with any questions or concerns. I package carefully and ship quickly.
