Description: Pierre d'Avesnes 1901-1990 It is said that from the age of 14 he worked for René Lalique, the famous French designer of art glass. He left Lalique in 1926 to open his own design studio. His designs were developed by Cristallerie de Saint-Rémy. In 1930, Daum Freres approached Pierre d'Avesnes to take over the artistic direction of their molded glass department. From 1940 onwards, he returned to independent work. Pierre d'Avesnes stands shoulder to shoulder with other famous French designers of art glass.
