Description: DISNEY SCHOOL BUS METAL DOME LUNCHBOX AND PLASTIC/GLASS THERMOS from Aladdin Industries 1961-1973. This Walt Disney-themed lunchbox was the most popular lunchbox ever issued and longest-running and most prolific lunchkit in history. This key dome box was the most successful box of all time selling more than 9,000,000 over its 12 years of sales from 1961-1973, and came in both orange and yellow. This lunchbox is the orange variety. There were five matching thermoses changing over the years as Aladdin changed designs. This thermos is the last version made entirely of plastic in plastic - which puts it in 1972-1973. Features many lovable Disney characters getting their ride to school – not too sure about Goofy behind the wheel! Wonderful design idea by Disney executive Al Konetzni – with artwork by Elmer Lehnhardt – artistic director for Aladdin. Condition: Box and thermoses are complete and correct (including the original wire thermos holder). Box lithos are clean and glossy throughout. All panels are clean and display well with light rubbings and a few tiny blemishes - very small scratches on the rims - with no corner dents or dimples. Bottom of box (where wear typically is found on these vintage dome boxes) is also clean with only paint rubbings on the feet. Inside of box is clean with light rubbings - and a previous owner sticker attached with a name. Box in overall nice condition. Thermos decals are clean and vibrant with minor rubbings.
