Description: You are bidding on vintage, genuine “East German Army NVA / Nazionale Volksarmee / /National People’s Army Motorcycle Dispatch Rider Rain Pants Size G48 / US large / Long in Brand New and Never Issued Condition". These pants are from the NVA Motorcycle Dispatch Rider outer uniform that consisted of these pants and a matching jacket. This set is in a human size G48 which is normally a US 40/ 42 but because these over pants are cut large and loose for wear over the service uniform, they easily fit a US size 44 / 46.These pants are NVA gray. They are made of some sort of vinyl / plastic. They were worn with suspenders that attach to the steel D rings on the front and back. There are two side pockets with a button flap. There are two large thigh pockets that are secured with 2 buttons. The interior of the pants has an elastic waistband and a 2-position button strap on both sides. This allows these outer pants to be worn over the e field service uniform by the rider. It also has a sewn size tag with G48. These pants measure:Waist = 20" / US 40Top of waist to end of leg = 43"Crotch to end of leg = 30 1/2" The vinyl plastic material on the pants has been delaminating in spots on these pants as shown in the photos. These pants were never used but still show the vinyl delaminating in spots. This is a typical problem with East German military vinyl, it does not age well. It is not a storage problem but rather a material problem. Nevertheless, these motorcycle rain pants are not very common.
