Description: This is a 9.5" tall, paper mache/composite, Virgin Mary figure, made by Fontanini in Italy. They produced these types of figures in the 1940s and 1950s, before changing their production technique in the 1960s.This figure is an absolutely gorgeous piece! The colors are beautifully vibrant, and photos do not do them justice. She is made to fit a 12" scale nativity, but she is stunning just to display on her own.She is in VGUC, for her age (nearly 80 years), but she does have some flaws. The finish has some small chips in a few areas. These would be an easy fix if you wanted to match up the paint and touch them up, but personally I think they just add to her charm and character.Please view all photos carefully, as they are part of the description.
