I believe it is a fraternity or sorority pendant or charm made of carved Mother of Pearl. Shape is a stylized shield or arrowhead mounted with a tiny embossed brass disk marked AE with a tiny two-handle urn and flame - measures a tad over 1" in size . Complete with jump ring, condition is very nice although the metal disk spins around a bit from how it was designed and mounted through the back - does not detract.
