Description: Vintage French holy water font measures 6.25 inches tall and 3 inches wide (across widest point).Metal frame surrounds painted figure of Mary and 2 angels on porcelain.Writing surrounding Mary reads: "N.D. DE BON ESPOIR DIJON" and the initials "PP" by the bottom of her robe.There is a scuff about the size of a pin head by the left side of her crown that has worn off part of the paint (photo 3).On the back of the frame, one of the tabs that holds the porcelain is missing.There is no loop on the back to hang the font, and I see no evidence that there ever was one. It came with an old string that was tied under the top arches and then used to hang on a nail. The string was so old it disintegrated into pieces. I displayed the font on a small easel.
