Description: Vintage French Watercolor, Honfleur, Normandy, Seaport, Boats, Signed, 1984 This masterfully executed vintage French watercolor shows an atmospheric view of the famous seaport of Honfleur in Normandy. The “Vieux Bassin” with boats is in the foreground and the “Lieutenance” can be seen in the background. The Lieutenance of Honfleur is the only surviving vestige of the ancient city fortifications and was the lodging of the King’s lieutenant. It has been listed as an historic monument since 1909. The watercolor is signed “J. Ingloo”, titled ‘Honfleur” and dated “1984”. The back is hand marked by the artists with the inventory number for the production of his painting in 1984.
