Description: This is a vintage Viet Nam era Farard turntabke model 40B. It is capable of playing 33-1/3rpm lps, 45s and 78's. It includes the dust cover. I plugged it in and the turntable will rotate but likely needs some level of service. Here is what I believe to be tge story with this. I purchased the turntable from an estate with a room contents. The lady was said to be a sweet 75 year old lady who had lived through tragedy. Her husband, who I will mention later, was a local volunteer fire chief who lost his life while returning from a call when his vehicle was struck by a dump truck. He was only 41. Then a few years later, this sweet lady, had her own MVA, two people in the other vehicle died, both members of her husbands former fire department. Then, rumor has it, her son took all her retirement savings so she had to continue working. As for the turntable? Its my belief that the husband purchased it while in the service. He also had a Pioneer SX1000-TW mated to a pair of BX-1500 CORAL Speaker made in Japan. Many service men purchased those speakers on base at their PX. Also, although it was popular with literally EVERYONE, he had a copy of Glen Cambells "Galveston" album. The song was about a soldier longing for home before a battle. Happy shopping!
