This auction is for one (1) Vintage Grindley Ware Gold Scottie Dog Salt or Pepper Shaker. This shaker, which is 2-1/2” tall, 2-3/4” long and 1-1/4” wide, is in excellent vintage condition with no damage, crazing, chips, cracks or repairs. This item was obtained a number of years ago from a gigantic yard sale just outside of Boston. The yard sale, which included vast amount of items from the 1920s through the 1960s purchased new and never used, lasted for six full weekends. The father was Raymond Douglass, who was a math teacher at MIT for 35 years. The mother was Ollave Douglass, who was a homemaker, a full time shopper and an obsessive-compulsive hoarder: the now retired daughter was known to quote her mother as saying "if one was good, twelve was better".
