Description: Up 4 sale is a vintage USA-made knife steel from before the turn of the century with a genuine Sambar stag crown antler grip, from my personal collection. Steel is carbon, hand-polished to a lustrous 2k finish *with* the grain, thus preserving the steel’s ability to hone a high-end edge (this can be confirmed both in use as well as by running one’s finger across the fine lines in the steel to feel the traction). These old-stock hand-fitted pieces are getting more & more rare to come across these days, & on edges @ or above about a 4k finish I personally find them to be exceptional performers. Steels are great for quick, repeatable touchups—whereas I often advise the use of strops or stones on higher-grit edges, if used correctly this baby will keep an edge going for a long time.
