Description: 1950s Hubley Metal Kiddie Toy Assortment No. 55 complete with original box and inserts, Navy Plane, Yellow Sports Car, Hook and Ladder, and union agreement - manufactured in Lancaster, PA The fire truck (Hubley No. 468) is in EXCELLENT condition. Paint is vibrant throughout with virtually no chipping or discoloration. All three pieces of the original ladder are included, fit together, and stand on their own when set up on the base. The wheels move smoothly and are all intact. The sports car (Hubley No. 486) is in fair condition. The paint job still looks great throughout with a minor chip or two but no real damage or discoloration. The convertible top comes off easily. The wheels all move smoothly. The windshield and seat pop out of the base and don't seem to sit inside very easily - they can be balanced to fit in (see pictures) but wouldn't sit in place during play. There are also a few spots of yellow, red, and navy paint across the body and convertible top, which I am assuming happened during manufacturing as they match the paint colors of each vehicle in this set. The plane is in very good condition. The propeller spins, the wheels both roll and fold into the cabin nicely, and the wings move up and down with ease. The paint job is still in great shape with on a few points of wear. The plastic hatch is not attached with glue or anything, so it can balance on top of the plane but wouldn't sit in place if the toy was played with. This box has seen better days but is largely intact. The bottom box has a few holes from where the cars have weighed on the cardboard and two loose corners. The top has had some tape applied to hold it together, but I would prefer to send the remaining pieces to the new owner so it can be taped or glued to your preference. This lot also includes the agreement document between Hubley and Local Union No. 71. With the exception of a bit of writing on the front, it is in great condition.
