Description: Vintage J Frame Smith & Wesson Odd/Unique Grips Help S&W community, these J-frame grips are very unique & large, the bottom looks to be machined out for maybe weight's or Laser, wow just stumped for sure, these grips measure 5.5'' long & 1.2'' wide. They have a high spot inside "see last 3 pic's" will need to be sanded/fitted to your J frame. I thought they were manufactured by Herrett's Stocks, since Herret's is located in Twin Falls I headed over, the stock maker wasn't able to identify why the holes are in these grips just that they are S&W J-frame, she did admit they were precision made and very nice. So I went to Red's Trading Post the oldest gun shop in Idaho, my extremely knowledgeable friend had no clue, but was impressed with the build of them. Please help !!, Someone knows something about these unique grips please ask your friends, I have two identical sets I don't believe they are one off's I had help from two gentleman, Thank You !! Bill had this to offer up;These grips were made by a company for an early type of grip laser.LaserGripsor some odd name like that I can’t remember the exact name.These didn’t last long on the market as technology quickly caught up and better designs were made. Another Opinion;So these grips are part of a larger shoulder butt assembly. This is common for people with disabilities to have a shoulder but with a long metal rod the length of the arm to rest the gun in the shoulder for firing. The butt was also made out of wood. I have seen a couple of these in my life. No International Shipping !!
