Description: These vintage castle plates were purchased at various times from various places over the last 20 years after I received a few like them from my grandmother when she passed. I moved recently and don't have room in my new space for these four plates. They all measure about 7-8" in diameter. Three of the four plates are marked with JS which I understand to be the mark of German artist Josef Strnact. These unique castle plates are a beautiful decoration for your home or your collection. There are very obvious signs of wear due to age, see photos that are part of the description. Details for each plate are below: Plate #1 is not marked with JS instead it is marked Lichtenstein 130. It is 8" in diameter and in the best condition of the four plates with only a couple of very minor chips.Plate #2 is marked JS [made in] Austria 3066 Wartburg which is a castle in Eisenach, Germany. It shows excessive wear and suffered more damage in my recent move when it rubbed against other plates even though it was in a protective padded sleeve. I will package it well when sending it but there are "dust shavings" from the previous poor packaging. It measures about 7.5" in diameter.Plate #3 is marked JS with a number and the name of a castle that's difficult to decipher, perhaps Marksburg? Or, maybe Marienburg? It shows excessive wear, is missing paint in many places and suffered more damage in my recent move when it rubbed against other plates even though it was in a protective padded sleeve. I will package it well when sending it but there are "dust shavings" from the previous poor packaging. It measures about 7.5" in diameter.Plate #4 is marked JS with a number that might be 8001? but no other markings. It is in relatively good vintage condition with only a few minor chips as shown in the photos. It measures about 7" in diameter.
